What I am Thankful for This Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I can't believe how fast this holiday season is coming upon us. How is it already Thanksgiving, and the end of November? Next thing you know we will blink, and it will be the New Year.

As you know, it is blog-post Thursday, and for today's post, I debated on what type of post I wanted to do. Since it is Thanksgiving, I decided I wanted to make it more than just something medical. I wanted to make it something a little more personal. We all know black Friday and Cyber Monday are right around the corner. And although I do love shopping on these occasions, I often feel Thanksgiving can be overshadowed by the sales, and the greediness these shopping days can bring.

My life has transformed in many ways over this past year. So for this blog post, instead of posting about deals, black Friday, Cyber Monday, or something related to PA school, I am posting something personal.

Thanksgiving is a day to feel thankful and to enjoy the ones around you. Whether they are friends, family, or co-workers, gratitude should be what we focus today on. So, I decided to make a list of all of the things I feel thankful for this year. I am sharing it with you, and I am hopeful that it will inspire you to create a list of the things you're grateful for and take the time to share it with those who matter most to you.

  1. My Family

  2. My long-term relationship with my boyfriend

  3. My dog, Oakley

  4. My friends from all walks of life

  5. My job and the opportunity to practice medicine

  6. Having a roof over my head and meals on my plate daily

  7. Having the time, the ability and the means to move my body

  8. My opportunity to travel over the year, and the travel coming up over the next year

  9. Having the holidays off this year and being able to spend them with my family

  10. My confidence, my insight, my empathy, my ability to connect with others

  11. My education

  12. Living in a country with free speech, and the opportunity to share my thoughts on this blog

XO,

Manny
