Looking for a workout option that you can fit into your busy schedule? How about a program you can fit into that tight budget? If so, keep reading, because you've come to the right place!

Even during the most stressful times, one of the ways I was able to stay sane was through working out. Through college, to working 3 jobs at once while applying to graduate school, to graduate school, and beyond. Working out was always a staple in my everyday life.
A lot of people have a perception that working out has to take up a lot of time, is unaffordable, or must be done at a gym. What I am going to share with you will prove all of those preconceptions wrong. Today, I will share with you my favorite and affordable home workouts. These workouts I utilized in graduate school and throughout COVID while the gyms were closed. Since learning to work out from home at that time, I've never wanted to go back. Homework-outs have no commute and are easy to fit into your schedule.
Home workouts are also great for people who need an affordable work out option. When I was in PA School, I couldn't afford a fancy gym membership as I wasn't working. I also didn't have a car in PA school, so getting to a gym was also more difficult. A lot of the workouts I did, I managed to do for almost nothing or for free. It was great!
I hope sharing these affordable workouts with you will enhance your wellbeing, no matter what stage life you're in, or what reason you may be working out for.
1. YouTube
YouTube has access to a lot of Free, that's right, F R E E work out opportunities. I used to do a lot of work outs on YouTube in didactic year of PA school. There are many different YouTubers and different platforms offering workouts. Some of my favorites were Chloe Ting, PopSugar, and Tone It Up. Although the options are endless, here are some of my favorite workouts I used to do. I recommend creating your own playlist filled with the favorite workouts you try, that way they are all in an easy to access place.
2. The Yoga Collective
The Yoga Collective is a website with on-demand yoga, barre and Pilates classes. There are thousands of different workouts to choose form, and at the click of your phone, iPad, or computer. They also offer meditation classes, and nutritious recipes. Unsure if you want to purchase a membership? You can try one of their free classes! Below is the website to sign up. It is $15/month to join on their website. Or, you can do what I did, and buy a 1 year membership for $15 (that's right, $15 for 1 whole year!!!!!) off of Groupon!
3. Peloton
Peloton is my go-to place to access workouts. They honestly have everything you can imagine. Rowing, Treadmill, yoga, meditation, shadowboxing, the list goes on and on. The best part about peloton is that you don't need their treadmill or equipment to get a good workout. If you already have a treadmill or bike at home or have access to a gym at your apartment complex, you're good to go. Don't have access to these machines? No Sweat!😉 There are plenty of other classes where no equipment is needed, and they will still make you sweat!
There are indeed free classes you can have access to at Peloton. If you want to buy a membership, it can be as low as $13 per month. Definitely cheaper than most gym memberships! BEWARE: Once you join the peloton community, it's no longer just a workout, but an addiction and way of life!
4. Beach Body (BODi)
This workout app and website has thousands of different classes. Although this one is not free, it is definitely worth the investment! In PA school, my roommates and I would wake up and do XTend Barre and XB Pilates with Andrea Rogers. By far, my favorite barre class. Andrea does not mess around and will make you sweat. Your legs will be so sore after your first workout you would think you PR'd on leg day at the gym. Beach Body also encompasses Shawn T's workouts including insanity, which I also completed with my roommates.
The variety of different work outs go on and on, but you definitely can't choose a bad option. Pricing for membership can start for $15/month!
5. Apple Fitness +
This workout resource is as easy as opening your fitness app on your iPhone if you have one. You can try this fitness app for free for 1 month. Workouts range from HIIT, to cardio, to yoga, to meditation. The cool thing about this app is that you can share a fitness + plan with up to 5 family members. Pricing is only $10 per month.
